Might there be a need for a second so-called beer summit in Washington?

George Washington accounting professor Robert Kasmir was ejected from his seat for yelling at a referee during Saturday's win against Dayton -- a game during which he and his family were honored for donations made to the athletic department, according to The GW Hatchet.
From his sideline seat on the court, Robert Kasmir yelled at the referee over a foul call on sophomore forward David Pellom, prompting his removal from the court by a member of the athletics department.

"Basically, I told the ref he was the worst ref I'd ever seen and he wasn't worth the $1,600 dollars they were paying him and that was it," Kasmir said. "And then he ejected me from the game."

...

Kasmir said the ejection would not keep him from making further donations to the University in the future.

"I think the University is a great University. It has nothing to do with the University," he said. "I think the official should never be allowed to officiate another game in the Atlantic 10, in college basketball, in the United States."

After signing some big checks over to the athletic department, Kasmir clearly felt he had the right to at least voice his displeasure with the officiating, but he was mistaken.

He wouldn't have been the first booster to have crossed the line in the eyes of the refs. A similar situation occurred in January when the wife of a Memphis booster was ejected for telling an official to choke on his mouthpiece, according to The Commercial Appeal.

So let's calm down with the comments. It's over. Breathe. Both George Washington and Memphis won those games. In fact, the Colonials have won five of six heading into the conference tournament.

At the same time, when you literally have a lot invested in the program, an emotional attachment is understandable. Just be careful of going overboard with it.
