The idea of Bill Carmody playing video games is funny. This had never occurred to me until the first time I saw this clip, from Northwestern athletics, that features Carmody sneaking in some Mortal Kombat after his players abandon the ol' XBox:

I actually want to see Carmody play video games. I don't know for sure, but I think he might really enjoy them. He's renowned for his intelligence. His zone-pressing Princeton-style system is the work of of a clinician. The only problem is that Carmody is so frequently at a recruiting disadvantage he often can't enlist the sheer talent he needs to win games. Guess where you don't need to recruit talent? NBA2K12. You control not only your team's strategy but its execution -- that would have to appeal to any coach, wouldn't it?

Am I spending too much time thinking about this? I'm probably spending too much time thinking about this. Anyway, Bill Carmody playing Mortal Kombat: funny stuff.
