Tom Izzo can play the accordion

I have no idea why this is just now seeing the light of day -- or maybe I just missed it in recent seasons -- but there are a few salient facts worth noting here:

1. Tom Izzo can play the accordion.

2. There is video of Tom Izzo playing the accordion.

It's a year old, and it features cameos from former players Kalin Lucas and Durrell Summers, but come on. It's Izzo. It's an accordion. I don't care how old it is, it's going on the blog.

Of course, this is hardly the only holiday- and hoops-related video on the interwebs. Indeed, the Dagger's Jeff Eisenberg compiled a handful of festive YouTube clips that will either fill you with holiday cheer or make you cringe and cover your ears. Or both.

In any case, we now know this much: Tom Izzo knows how to play the accordion. That might be the greatest Christmas* gift of all.

*Or your holiday of choice. Happy Holidays, everyone!

All-Important Update, 4:20 p.m. ET: Michigan State director of basketball operations Kevin Pauga was kind enough to tweet over some links for this year's festivities, including photos of current MSU players singing "Jingle Bells" and audio of Izzo performing this year's version of the Spartans' holiday tradition. Cozy up by the fire, kids. It's the most wonderful time of the year.
