NASHVILLE, Tenn. – At least, there’s one team that can shoot in this place.
None of the four teams in the afternoon session shot 40 percent from the field.
But Florida filled it up to the tune of 55 percent in the first half to build a 40-31 lead over Auburn in first-round SEC tournament action at Bridgestone Arena.
It looked like the Gators might run away early, but the Tigers were able to hang around and keep the deficit under 10 points.
If Auburn is going to make a game of it in the second half, the Tigers have to do a better job of contesting Florida’s shots. The Gators got way too many good looks in the first half.
Furthermore, the clock could be ticking on Jeff Lebo’s career at Auburn.
