GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Quick halftime thoughts from Georgia Tech-North Carolina State.
- Redcoat magic appears to be running low. The Yellow Jackets have hammered the Wolfpack in the paint, outrebounding them 25-14, and N.C. State cannot hit the 3-point shots it likely needs to pull a third straight upset here. The Pack is just 1 for 12 from outside the arc, and the only make was a 26-foot bomb by freshman sharpshooter Scott Wood. Senior Dennis Horner was 0 for 5.
- Derrick Favors continues to play like a future pro, pounding home 10 points and pulling down seven rebounds. Fellow low-post bull Gani Lawal has seven points and seven boards.
- N.C. State has managed to turn over the haphazard Jackets eight times, but that number probably will have to more than double in the second half if the Pack is going to rally.
