Ex-Cal State Northridge player hits the jackpot

By Diamond Leung

Craig Calloway won $235,000 by sinking a half-court shot during the Lakers' playoff game on Tuesday that even had Phil Jackson interrupting an interview to remark how the shot was better than anything the Lakers were doing at the time.

Where did Calloway learn to shoot like that? From Cal State Northridge and coach Bobby Braswell.
After nearly every practice, Cal State Northridge head basketball coach Bobby Braswell has the team attempt to make half-court baskets. After all, there will be a time when a half-court basket is needed to win a game at the buzzer.

For former Matador player Craig Calloway who played two seasons at CSUN (1999-00, 2000-01), the practice finally paid off ... nine years later.
