Pullen's beard inspires prank by Beasley

By Diamond Leung

The popularity of the beard of Kansas State star guard Jacob Pullen has already reached epic proportions, and even though his mother would rather he shave it off, there are hundreds of people who just go crazy over one of college basketball's most notable facial hair looks.

According to the Topeka Capital-Journal, count former Kansas State teammate Michael Beasley as one of the nuttier fans of the beard.
Michael Beasley, prankster extraordinaire, struck again during a recent visit to Manhattan.

Beasley, whose best gags always seem to involve Sharpies, grew envious after hearing about former teammate Jacob Pullen's famous facial hair. So before he left, Beasley scribbled a black beard everywhere his image appeared in Kansas State's basketball offices.

Beasley apparently never got all the CollegeHumor-style antics out of his system considering he was a one-and-done player who was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft.

While he might have defaced his own image, Beasley did help in making sure Pullen would appear in future team photos.

After all, Pullen told The Capital-Journal last month that it was Beasley who gave him advice leading up to his decision to return for his senior season rather than turn pro.

So if Pullen and his beard end up leading the Wildcats to the Final Four next season, the program will have Beasley to thank as well.
