Arizona's court gets another makeover

By Diamond Leung

The old school cactus logo that used to adorn Lute and Bobbi Olson Court at the McKale Center disappeared last year, drawing some criticism from fans of cacti and tradition.

According to the Arizona Daily Star, the court went through some more changes this offseason, with coach Sean Miller getting input.
Gone is the word "Arizona" from underneath the midcourt block A; as a result, the logo has grown by about 6 feet.

"We're trying to brand the 'A,'" UA associate athletic director Steve Kozachik said, "instead of the word mark."

...

The decision to paint the key navy blue -- it was naked wood before -- came from Miller, Kozachik said.

"Sean wanted paint in the paint," he said.

Also getting colored in navy blue on the court is the new Pac-10 logo, which appears to be adjusted to team colors based on the purple one seen on Washington's court.

So the big "A" won't be the only thing being re-branded.
