When De’Asian Richardson was pulled out of class to take a phone call on Thursday morning, he had no idea Alabama head coach Nick Saban and Crimson Tide assistants Jeremy Pruitt and Chris Rumph were on the other line.
He also didn’t expect what was coming next: a scholarship offer from the University of Alabama.
“I was shocked,” Richardson said. “I was just amazed. It’s Alabama. That’s the top school right now. I was just amazed that they want me. Truthfully, Bama came out of nowhere. I wasn’t even expecting Bama.”
