LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Florida defensive back commit Brian Poole (Bradenton, Fla./Southeast) was one of six Florida verbal commitments to compete in the first day of Under Armour All-America game practices on Sunday afternoon.
Poole was in on several pass break-ups, including one while covering fellow Florida commit Latroy Pittman (Citra, Fla./North Marion).
Pittman said he was impressed with Poole’s play.
"He played good to me,” Pittman said. “He can really break on the ball. I think he’s the starting corner in the game. He can break on the ball and he’s real aggressive.”
Poole said he is still a solid commit to Florida, but is considering taking other visits before signing day.
Maye switches positions
Florida safety commit Marcus Maye (Melbourne, Fla./Holy Trinity) was surprised to find out that he has been switched to outside linebacker for practice this week.
Maye, who has never played the position before, was still able to get reps at safety as well. The switch was made because of a lack of players at the linebacker position. At 6-foot-1, 200 pounds, Maye is one of the bigger safeties on the roster.
Maye believes he will see time at both positions during the game on Thursday night.
