The Florida Gators picked up their third commitment in as many days on Friday afternoon, as 2016 cornerback prospect Tre Jackson (Baton Rouge, La./University Lab) gave his pledge to Florida head coach Will Muschamp. Jackson is the son of former Florida All-American Jack Jackson.
The 5-foot-10, 160-pound athlete also held offers from Fresno State and Louisiana Tech and was receiving interest from LSU and TCU.
The sophomore-to-be announced his commitment on Twitter and later confirmed his decision via text message.
"@CB_EJ3: Its official just committed to the University of Florida #GatorNation," his Tweet read.
The Gators now have two 2016 commitments. The other comes from Naples (Fla.) High School wide receiver Tyler Byrd. Jackson had been planning to attend Florida's Friday Night Lights camp but was unable to make it.
