Racean Thomas has one official planned
By Dave Hooker
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Racean Thomas has one official visit he's sure he'll take.
Racean Thomas is the No. 5-rated running back prospect in the nation and is No. 35 overall in the ESPN 150.
In addition to visiting Oregon for The Opening this summer, he said he'll also travel to Eugene for an official visit this fall. The nation's No. 35 prospect said he'll take all five of his official visits but isn't sure where else he'll travel.
"That's the only for sure one," the running back from Oxford (Ala.) High said during an IMG seven-on-seven camp in Knoxville, Tenn.
Thomas said Texas has made a strong push lately in his recruitment. The 5-foot-10, 202-pound prospect said he plans to visit Florida State this summer.
As one of the top prospects in the nation, Thomas isn't even sure how many scholarship offers he has. However, he knows what he wants in a school.
"Good education. Good environment. Good coaches," the No. 3 prospect in Alabama said. "Coaches that treat me like I'm part of the family."
Of course Alabama will be tough to beat. The in-state Crimson Tide have made Thomas a high priority and have a strong history of producing top-flight tailbacks.
