Despite not having an offensive coordinator the Florida Gators were able to get four-star wide receiver Ryan Sousa (Orlando, Fla./Lake Nona) to flip his commitment from Florida State to the Gators on Monday night. Sousa’s commitment was first reported by 247sports.

Sousa camped at both schools over the summer but was only offered a scholarship by FSU, which he quickly jumped on and committed to the Noles in June.

After having a strong senior season, Florida decided to offer the 6-foot, 177-pound wideout a scholarship. Sousa took an official visit this weekend and decided to go ahead and flip his commitment.

After struggling mightily in the passing game this year, the Gators have been looking to add playmakers on offense. Sousa, who totaled 4,107 receiving yards and 53 receiving touchdowns on 246 receptions in his high school career, joins four-star wide receiver Ermon Lane (Homestead, Fla./Homestead) as Florida commitments.

For Florida, the Gators now have 16 commitments, including nine ranked in the ESPN 300. Twelve of Florida’s commitments are ranked four-stars or higher.

Florida State, meanwhile, has 23 commitments including nine ranked in the ESPN 300.

NoleNation takes a quick look at five positions of need in this 2014 recruiting class.

Offensive tackle

Florida State enters this 2013 with only one certain starter at offensive tackle. Cam Erving, the starting left tackle, is a redshirt junior and could very well jump to the NFL draft after this season, given his high projections. Bobby Hart has played a lot in his first two seasons and could end up being the right tackle. From the Class of 2013, just Wilson Bell is capable of playing tackle, but could just as well end up on the interior depending on how things shake out.

Commitments: Ethan Frith (Summit, Miss./North Pike)

Top targets: Damian Prince (Forestville, Md./Bishop McNamara), Roderick Johnson (Florissant, Mo./Hazelwood Central)

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Jimbo Fisher has added another wide receiver to his 2014 recruiting class.

Ryan Sousa (Orlando, Fla./Lake Nona) committed to the Seminoles during Thursday’s prospect camp session, his coach Anthony Paradiso confirmed. The 6-foot, 177-pound Sousa joins Markell Pack (Purvis, Miss./Purvis) and C.J. Worton (Homestead, Fla./South Dade) as the other pass-catchers in the group. ESPN 150 athlete JoJo Robinson (Miami/Northwestern) also projects as a wide receiver.

Sousa chose the Seminoles over offers from FAU, Missouri, Rutgers, UCF, UCLA and Wake Forest. He is the 11th commitment in Florida State’s 2014 class.

MIAMI, Fla. -- The 2013 Nike Football Training Camp tour continued in Miami on Saturday as several top players from South Florida showcased their skills at West Orange High School. The wide receiver and offensive line position groups were loaded and several players earned invitations to The Opening.

Recruiting Nation writers Derek Tyson and Kipp Adams attended the camp. Here is what they learned:

Wide receivers stand out
As impressive as the wide receivers group was at the Orlando NFTC on Saturday, the Miami NFTC was even better. The talented group of pass-catchers was led by Watch List prospects Johnnie Dixon (Palm Beach, Fla./Dwyer), Travis Rudolph (Miami/Cardinal Newman) and Corey Holmes (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas). Just a day after impressing in Orlando, receiver Ryan Sousa (Orlando, Fla./Lake Nona) traveled to Miami and again competed and impressed with his performance. De'Vante Phillips (Miami/Central) and Devonaire Clarington (Miami/Southridge), both 2015 prospects, proved they belonged with the other top players. The group, as a whole, consistently won most of the one-on-one matchups and were the best position group at the camp.
