Josh Garnett (Puyallup, Wash./Puyallup) has been on the Michigan radar for quite some time and has Michigan in his top three with Notre Dame and Stanford. Garnett recently said that he has a decision date in mind.
Michigan only has a few spots left in the 2012 class. With five offensive linemen committed already, the Michigan coaching staff is still targeting one more elite lineman, and Garnett fits the bill.
The four-star lineman still plans on taking his official visit to Stanford on Jan. 13, but he will make his announcement either on Jan. 26 or 27.
Academics are a priority for Garnett as he has said he would like to have options once he's done with football. Whichever program picks up the talented prospect will be getting a rare type of football player with a combination of smarts and athletic ability.
