Top 2015 CB looking for Michigan offer
By Brad Bournival
If Michigan is listening, Shaun Crawford (Lakewood, Ohio/St. Edward) is waiting.
The 5-foot-9, 168-pound sophomore has offers from Illinois and Tennessee already, but there’s just something about that maize and blue according to Crawford, who posted a 90.30 rating at the SPARQ Combine in Massillon, Ohio on Saturday.
“They have a nice background,” Crawford said. “The coaches are really nice and friendly. The defensive coordinator [Greg] Mattison has coached a lot of great players who are now in the NFL. He’s a former coach of Ed Reed who I look up to.”
Recruited as a cornerback, he’ll visit Michigan State on Tuesday, Michigan on Feb. 24 and Tennessee on April 20.
Here’s what he had to say about his other two offers.
Tennessee: “It’s a great school, it’s a nice campus, nice weather and my grandfather was born and raised there. My mom likes Tennessee. I want to go somewhere I can run track, too.”
Illinois: “It’s a great school. I want to go into engineering and they have one of the greatest programs in the country. I know some kids who are already there,V'Angelo Bentley and Justin Hardee. I know them very well. They tell me it’s a great place to be.”
