Watch List RB Hood talks top five
By Tom VanHaaren
Running back Elijah Hood (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Catholic) is already on a roll with offers from Clemson, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Stanford, among others. Despite the fact it's still early in the 2014 prospect's recruitment, Hood said he does have a few schools that stand out.
"My top five right now is not concrete, but Ohio State, Notre Dame, Clemson, North Carolina and Georgia Tech are sticking out right now," he said. "That's in no order, but I feel more comfortable with those schools than any other program."
Hood said that list is not final, and as he takes more visits his top group will likely change. He plans on taking plenty of visits, and that includes a swing up north in the near future.
"I'm taking a lot of visits now. I'm going to Clemson next week," he said. "In February or March, I'm going to Ohio State, Michigan and Notre Dame to get all three of those done."
Hood said he will have plenty of questions for each coaching staff while on the visits. A self-described inquisitive person, Hood wants to know everything from offensive scheme to who else the coaches are recruiting and even what the meal plan looks like.
He's mainly looking to gain a level of comfort, though, and learn what each program has to offer. Since his list is not set in stone, he is hoping to get more clarity on where each school stands.
"My list can definitely change, and I'm not going to say I'm solid on those schools yet," he said. "I might go to the campus and find out it's not for me. That's already happened once, so I want to see the campus for myself and figure out if I can see myself there."
