Orlando Scandrick out with ankle injury

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Already thin at cornerback without Terence Newman (groin) the Cowboys lost Orlando Scandrick in the second quarter to an ankle injury.

UPDATE: Scandrick will not return to the game.

Scandrick headed to the locker room for X-rays and was replaced by Alan Ball. Bryan McCann would move into the nickel role. Mike Jenkins, who did not play in the preseason because of a stinger, missed a few plays in the first quarter but returned.

The Cowboys dressed only four corners because of Newman’s injury. He could return to practice next week.
