During the bye week, the Cowboys have started the process of trying to fill their open roster spot by working out former SMU cornerback Bryan McCann on Thursday.
The Cowboys have no plans to sign McCann.
A roster spot was created when the team released cornerback LeQuan Lewis this week.
McCann signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent and played 11 games from 2010-11. He was released in 2011 and signed with the Oakland Raiders, where he played seven games.
The Raiders released him and he signed with the Baltimore Ravens and participated in one game.
