IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys running backs coach Gary Brown has missed the last couple of organized team activities because of a medical emergency regarding a family member.

Brown left the team late last week and is expected back soon.

Coach Jason Garrett said the offensive coaching staff has filled in for Brown.

"There is so much thought about his family," Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Tuesday.

The family illness has not been disclosed.
