Injury report: Jones unconcerned about Bryant's hip

July, 27, 2013
OXNARD, Calif. -- Receiver Dez Bryant seemed bewildered by questions about his sore hip.

“I don’t know why y’all think my hip is hurt,” Bryant said as he walked off the field after sitting out Saturday’s practice.

The fact that Jerry Jones said Bryant had a sore hip, confirming what a source told earlier in the day, had something to do with it.

There is a consensus opinion that Bryant’s hip is not a concern. He sat as a precautionary measure a week into training camp. This is certainly not a condition that would cause Bryant to miss a game.

“No concern whatsoever,” said Jones, who wasn’t sure if Bryant would play in Sunday’s scrimmage. “That’s just precautionary.”

Other notes:
  • Center/guard Ryan Cook, who participated in two practice days after passing the conditioning test, sat out due to a sore lower back.
  • Receiver Cole Beasley (bruised quadriceps) did not participate in the afternoon practice.
  • Defensive lineman Ben Bass did not practice due to a sprained left ankle suffered Friday. He said he hopes to return next week.
  • Defensive tackle Ike Igbinosun (ankle), defensive tackle Jay Ratliff (hamstring), defensive end Anthony Spencer (knee surgery), defensive end Tyrone Crawford (season-ending torn Achilles tendon), offensive guard Mackenzy Bernadeau (hamstring), offensive tackle Jermey Parnell (hamstring), receiver Danny Coale (knee), tight end James Hanna (hamstring) and long-snapper L.P. Ladouceur (calf) continued to miss practice.
