OXNARD, Calif. – The Cowboys signed defensive end Travis Chappelear, who worked out for the club Monday morning.

To make room for Chappelear, the Cowboys cut long snapper P.J. Mangieri, who was signed Sunday, to remain under the 90-man limit.

With injuries to Jay Ratliff, Anthony Spencer and Sean Lissemore, the Cowboys needed some defensive line depth. Chappelear signed with Cincinnati after the draft and also spent time with New England in the offseason.

As a senior at Northwest Missouri State last year, he had 62 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
