IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant missed Wednesday's practice with back stiffness.

Bryant was dealing with the problem throughout the Week 2 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs but still caught nine passes for 141 yards with one touchdown.

"I think it’s sore," coach Jason Garrett said of Bryant's back.

Bryant, who wore a gray hoodie as he walked onto the practice field at Valley Ranch, had severe back spasms in the 2012 regular-season finale against the Washington Redskins.

Starting defensive end Anthony Spencer, who made his season debut last week, missed practice. Spencer, who is recovering from knee surgery, said Monday his knee was still sore.

Spencer was doing cardio work during practice.

Backup linebacker Ernie Sims (groin) was suited up and doing some rehab work.
Calvin Watkins joined ESPNDallas.com in September 2009. He's covered the Cowboys since 2006 and also has covered colleges, boxing and high school sports.
