Frederick played every offensive snap (997) in 2013 and had only three penalties in 16 games while making all of the line calls.
The Cowboys caught grief for not only trading down from No. 18 in the first round to No. 31 with the San Francisco 49ers, they were also criticized for taking Frederick with a first-round pick. From his first mini-camp on, however, Frederick was a starter and proved the Cowboys made the correct decision.
The other part of that San Francisco trade was wide receiver Terrance Williams, who was taken in the first round. Williams was beaten out at wide receiver on the PFWA’s All-Rookie team by San Diego’s Keenan Allen, who was named the offensive rookie of the year, and Houston’s DeAndre Hopkins.
Williams had 44 catches for 736 yards and five touchdowns as a rookie.
