Recapping the Cowboys week

By Todd Archer

IRVING, Texas -- The focus of the week has been on the Dallas Cowboys' running game. Or the lack of it. Or the complete absence of it.

So far the offensive line has received blame, but DeMarco Murray received some hits this week as well. Maybe it helps that the last time he saw the St. Louis Rams he ran for a team-record 253 yards in 2011.

On to the recap:

Jean-Jacques Taylor believes the lack of balance on offense is a systemic failure, not an individual one.

ESPN’s Louis Riddick wonders about Murray’s ability to make people miss.

In this week’s Hot Button, Tim MacMahon and Richard Durrett debate whether the Cowboys made a mistake in trading up for Morris Claiborne last year.

The Cowboys defense will look to break two goose eggs on Sunday.

Look for rookie J.J. Wilcox to make his first start.

For this week’s Double Coverage, I talk about the matchup with Rams reporter Nick Wagoner.
