Dallas Cowboys: Vincent Agnew

Cowboys call up CB Vincent Agnew

November, 10, 2012
IRVING, Texas – With Mike Jenkins questionable for Sunday’s game at Philadelphia because of back spasms, the Cowboys called up cornerback Vincent Agnew from the practice squad Saturday.

To make room for Agnew, the Cowboys cut linebacker Gary Guyton, who was signed Wednesday as insurance for injuries to Dan Connor and Orie Lemon.

Jenkins did not practice Thursday or Friday and is listed as questionable, but he said Friday he would be able to play against the Eagles. The Cowboys called up Agnew just to be covered at the position with the Eagles’ ability to throw the ball.

Agnew was signed to the practice squad Oct. 16.

Cowboys make practice squad move

IRVING, Texas – The Cowboys released cornerback Mario Butler from the practice squad and signed Vincent Agnew.

Agnew, a cornerback with some safety experience, was among 16 players to work out for the Cowboys last Friday. He had two tackles against the Cowboys in the final preseason game for Miami before being cut by the Dolphins.

Butler opened the year on the active roster but was released on Sept. 22 and later re-signed to the practice squad.
