Texas A&M was scheduled to arrive in Shreveport, La., today to begin their bowl preparations on site (and to have some fun too, of course).

This isn't the first time the Aggies have faced the Georgia Bulldogs. Texas A&M leads the all-time series, 3-1. But the last time the two teams played was Sept. 13, 1980 between the hedges at Sanford Stadium. That game was won by then 12th-ranked Georgia, 42-0. Herschel Walker was a freshman running back and the Bulldogs went on to win the national title that season.

The only time the two teams played in a postseason game was the first meeting between the two, in the Presidential Cup in 1950. A&M won 40-20.

Bear Bryant earned his first win as the Texas A&M head coach in 1954 by beating Georgia, 6-0.

Mike Sherman has never faced Georgia and Mark Richt has never faced Texas A&M.
