By now, Texas coach Mack Brown had almost no choice.
Texas will almost certainly go with a two-quarterback approach against UCLA on Saturday, demoting Garrett Gilbert to third string.
Case McCoy and David Ash are listed as co-starters ahead of Gilbert, who went 7-7 in his 14 starts and has 13 touchdowns to 23 interceptions for his career.
Gilbert completed 2 of 8 passes for 8 yards and two interceptions before being benched early in the second quarter of Saturday's 17-16 win over BYU. He was booed repeatedly coming on and off the field in Saturday's game.
McCoy, the younger brother of former UT star Colt McCoy, shared time with the mobile true freshman Ash for the rest of the game.
They combined to complete 9 of 11 passes for 92 yards.
Freshman running back Malcolm Brown also was listed as co-starter on this week's depth chart with senior Fozzy Whittaker.
