FORT WORTH -- The fact that ESPN's College Gameday will be on BYU's campus for Saturday's game was brought up right away by Cougars coach Bronco Mendenhall on his weekly conference call Tuesday.
"That will be a fantastic opportunity, not only for our players, but the fans of both programs to be part of a wonderful college atmosphere," Mendenhall said. "I hope both teams play to the level they're capable of to put on a great show for the Mountain West Conference and for those that are continuing to look at our league and trying to gauge how much respect we deserve."
TCU defensive end Jerry Hughes and his teammates will probably catch part of the show from their hotel rooms in Provo, Utah. He's excited that ESPN thought enough of the game to have the Gameday crew there.
"It says a lot about the importance of the game and it also says a lot about the school that we're finally getting some recognition," Hughes said. "I'm not really concerned about it because we have to go out and play, but it speaks wonders for the school and the program."
