FORT WORTH -- TCU coach Gary Patterson said there wasn't much overall energy at the beginning of last Saturday's game against Colorado State. In fact, the Horned Frogs trailed 6-0 after the first quarter.
He said the players finally got an emotional boost when Jeremy Kerley returned a punt 69 yards for a touchdown to give TCU a 17-6 lead.
In the second half, TCU scored 27 points and held the Rams scoreless to win 44-6.
"We won't have a problem with our energy in their stadium Saturday," Patterson said. "That's one of the toughest places we play."
Patterson believes that his team can draw on the experience of going to Clemson, another very difficult place to play, and winning. But he wants to see his team come out with much more energy from the start of the game.
