OU falls short, can't afford another loss
Oklahoma made a run at Clemson when their suspended game resumed Wednesday, but the Sooners fell short, 6-4, for their first loss at the College World Series.
The Sooners trailed, 6-1, after five innings when play was halted because of storms Tuesday night, but they scored single runs in the seventh, eighth and ninth and had the tying run at the plate when the final out was made.
Thanks to the game taking two days to finish, the Sooners don't get a day off and will be back in action Thursday in an elimination game against South Carolina at 6 p.m. (ESPN2/ESPN3.com). Oklahoma beat the Gamecocks, 4-3, earlier in the CWS.
