TCU kicker arrested for trespassing

By Jeff Caplan

TCU Horned Frogs kicker Ross Evans turned himself in to Denton police on Monday on a charge of criminal trespassing stemming from an incident that occurred on Nov. 8.

The senior from Burnet is charged with a Class A misdemeanor and could face a fine up to $4,000 or up to one year in jail, or both, according to a Denton police department spokesperson.

According to the police report, Evans, 21, kicked in the door of an apartment, apparently in attempt to find the person that had stolen his friend's cell phone, or in an attempt to retrieve the phone.

After being identified as the man who may have kicked in the door and entered the home illegally, Evans turned himself in Monday.

"We are aware of the situation and still gathering information," TCU athletic director Chris Del Conte said in a statement.

He was named the Mountain West Conference special teams player of the week in TCU's 34-10 victory over Colorado State on Saturday. TCU is idle this week and finishes the regular season at home on Dec. 3. It will then play in an undetermined bowl game.
