Big 12 helmet stickers: Week 2
By David Ubben
Time to hand out a little hardware for a job well done. Your stickers are in the mail, boys. I expect to see them next week.
Collin Klein, QB, Kansas State: Klein was a monster -- probably most analogous to the Predator, what with the laser attached to his shoulder -- in a 52-13 victory over Miami on Saturday. Klein looked the part of a matured passer, completing 9 of 11 passes for 210 yards and a touchdown, but he also scored three touchdowns on the ground and ran for 71 yards on 22 carries. As long as he doesn't attempt any more behind the back pitches, he should be in good shape.
Seth Doege, QB, Texas Tech: The Red Raiders went on the road for the first time this season, and Doege looked masterful, throwing for five touchdowns in less than three quarters of work in a 58-10 win over Texas State. Doege finished 25-of-32 for 319 yards and didn't have a turnover.
Casey Pachall, QB, TCU: Sure, it was against an overmatched FCS opponent, but you've got to be impressed with any QB start that doesn't involve an incompletion. Pachall completed all nine of his passes in a 56-0 rout of Grambling State for 201 yards and three touchdowns. Not a bad start for the Big 12 newbies. In fact, Pachall's backup, Trevone Boykin, helped TCU set an FBS record with 17 completions in 17 attempts.
Damien Williams, RB, Oklahoma: FCS competition again, but Williams isn't very far removed from junior college. In just his second game as a Sooner, Williams turned 10 carries into four touchdowns. He broke an 89-yard touchdown run as the game's biggest highlight, but finished with 156 yards on the night in OU's 69-13 win over Florida A&M. Crazy.
