Kansas at No. 7 Kansas State (noon, FX): The Wildcats have taken three in a row in this rivalry, including two blowouts. Turner Gill's gone now, though. Can Charlie Weis reverse the Jayhawks' fortunes? K-State's got the best wins of any Big 12 team, and sits at 4-0 after handing Oklahoma and Miami their only losses of the season. Kansas' defense looks much improved, but the Wildcats have been as physical as anyone in the Big 12 and will be a tough test for the 1-3 Jayhawks, who are only a couple plays away from being 3-1.
No. 17 Oklahoma at Texas Tech (3:30 p.m., ABC/ESPN2 ): Texas Tech is 4-0 and its top-ranked defense will get its toughest test of the season in Oklahoma, which has struggled offensively but still ranks No. 25 in total offense. Landry Jones and Co. will be out for revenge after the Sooners' 39-game winning streak came to an end last season thanks to Tech. The Sooners are just 3-4 against Texas Tech since 2005, but Tech is just 1-6 at home in Big 12 play under Tommy Tuberville.
No. 15 TCU at Iowa State (3:30 p.m., Fox Sports Network): Iowa State has made a living surprising ranked Big 12 teams under Paul Rhoads, and it'll get a good opportunity on the road against a TCU team that's shown lots of potential without hanging very many points on the board so far this season. The defense has a case as the Big 12's best to this point, but the Frogs managed just 156 yards of offense in a rainy win over SMU last week. Iowa State's defense will be ready to handle the physical TCU attack. Casey Pachall will have to be at his best.
No. 8 West Virginia at No. 11 Texas (7 p.m., FOX): The Big 12's biggest game of the week matches up its most talented offense with its most talented defense. To this point, WVU has lived up to the hype, with two of the nation's best receivers in Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey helping push Geno Smith to Heisman Trophy front-runner status. Texas' defense, meanwhile? It's been a disappointment and dealt with tackling issues. The Longhorns rank just 64th in total offense and have given up at least 30 points to Oklahoma State and Ole Miss in consecutive weeks.
