Big 12 fantasy football: Week 10
By Max Olson
Another week, another one-point win for Jake Trotter in our Big 12 fantasy football league.
Trotter topped yours truly, 95-94, thanks to big Saturday performances from the usual suspects, West Virginia RB Charles Sims and Texas Tech TE Jace Amaro. He took a legitimate risk by not signing any other quarterbacks this week with Bryce Petty on bye, and somehow that paid off. He also won by a one-point margin in Week 8.
Then again, my team could’ve won easily had I put a little more effort into my roster planning. Desmond Roland put up another impressive performance as Oklahoma State’s featured back, going for 27 against Texas Tech, and Davis Webb once again got the job done with 25. From a fantasy perspective, he has a chance to be the Big 12’s second-best quarterback.
Brandon enjoyed a 36-point showing from OSU QB Clint Chelf, who went wild in the run game to boost his numbers against Tech, but had a few too many zero-point efforts and finished with 75.
Jake has now won four weeks, one more than the rest of us, and is still close to taking over the season points lead, trailing by just eight points.
The Big 12’s three best fantasy scorers this weekend were Chelf, Sims and a surprise performance from Texas RB Malcolm Brown, who posted 35 points thanks to four touchdown runs. Here’s how our teams fared in Week 10:
