Junior day season is still underway, and that means a lot more offers and new names on the radar. Here's the latest on the 2016 recruiting trail in the Big 12:

BAYLOR
Total commits: 5
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 3
The latest: Baylor running back commit Kameron Martin received an offer from Texas last week, but so far that move hasn't been enough to flip him. The ESPN Junior 300 back is a cousin of former Texas great Jamaal Charles and has called UT his "dream school," but Baylor was the first to offer and he's been a loyal pledge to the Bears since July 2014.

IOWA STATE
Total commits: 0
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0
The latest: The Cyclones were the first to offer 6-foot-5 tight end T.J. Hockenson of Chariton, Iowa. He landed his offer during a junior day visit and put up serious numbers as a junior: 73 catches, 1,116 yards and 18 touchdowns. Hockenson is expected to take a junior day trip to Kansas State as well.

KANSAS
Total commits: 2
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0
The latest: The Jayhawks locked up their second commitment of 2016 from Antoine Frazier, a 6-foot-5, 250-pound offensive tackle from Huffman, Texas, who pledged one day after receiving an offer. Frazier was a high school teammate of KU early enrollee receiver Chase Harrell at Huffman.

KANSAS STATE
Total commits: 2
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0
The latest: One of the many recruits hoping for an offer at Kansas State's junior day Feb. 28 will be Ian Rudzik, a linebacker/running back from Ulysses, Kansas, who visited KU earlier this month. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound junior is drawing interest from Arizona State and Minnesota, but a KSU offer might end his recruitment quickly.

OKLAHOMA
Total commits: 3
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 1
The latest: Though Oklahoma only picked up one commitment from its junior day last weekend, the Sooners did make progress with a number of key targets in the state of Texas. ESPN Junior 300 defensive end Marvin Terry, defensive tackle Chris Daniels and lineman Kellen Diesch all emerged with positive reviews and will be intriguing targets moving forward.

OKLAHOMA STATE
Total commits: 2
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0
The latest: Oklahoma State went to the juco ranks for its second pledge of 2016. Fort Scott (Kansas) Community College cornerback Malik Kearse picked the Cowboys on Thursday. He originally hails from Miami, but an elbow injury in his senior year of high school meant no offers. Kearse logged two interceptions and 10 pass breakups in his first year at Fort Scott.

TCU
Total commits: 8
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 3
The latest: TCU hosted another big junior day on Saturday and received a commitment from offensive lineman Austin Myers of Manvel, Texas. The Horned Frogs also made offers to ATH Tyrell Alexander, TE Donte Coleman and 2017 ATH Roshauud Paul and were able to get ESPN Junior 300 running back Trayveon Williams and corner Jared Mayden on campus.

TEXAS
Total commits: 3
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 2
The latest: Texas made a ton of offers this week, and most of them went to quarterbacks. LSU commit Feleipe' Franks, Oregon commit Seth Green, Texas Tech commit Tristen Wallace and Baylor commit Zach Smith all picked up Texas offers, as did uncommitted passers Xavier Gaines, Woody Barrett and Bowman Sells. Considering the Horns' depth issues at QB, taking two in this class might make sense.

TEXAS TECH
Total commits: 3
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0
The latest: The Red Raiders landed their third commitment of the 2016 class from running back Da'Leon Ward of powerhouse Dallas Skyline. The all-purpose back picked Tech over TCU and rushed for 1,779 yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior, but he is still expected to take more visits despite his pledge.

WEST VIRGINIA
Total commits: 4
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0
The latest: West Virginia is reportedly expected to get an unofficial visit from defensive end Shavar Manuel this spring. The nation's No. 2 overall 2016 recruit has Florida State in the lead following his FSU junior day trip, but WVU is on Manuel's list of upcoming trips along with Clemson, Florida, LSU and Virginia Tech.

Here's what's been cooking on the recruiting trail around the Big 12:

Baylor
Total commits: 5
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 3
The latest: The Bears got in early on Houston defensive tackle Jordan Elliott, who committed to Baylor last month. But the Bears will have to fight to keep him. Elliott received an offer from Alabama last week, and more big-time offers figure to pour in.

Iowa State
Total commits: 0
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0
The latest: Iowa State continues to battle for in-state offensive lineman Jake Heinrich, whose recruitment outside the state has picked up. Heinrich is not expected to be at Iowa State's junior day this weekend, but his twin brother, John, and Urbandale offensive lineman teammate, Caleb Bright, are.

Kansas
Total commits: 1
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0
The latest: The Jayhawks are heading out West to try and land a QB. Last week, Kansas extended offers to a pair of California QBs in Devon Modster of Las Flores and Khalil Tate of Gardena. The connection is offensive coordinator Rob Likens, who previously was at Cal.

Kansas State
Total commits: 2
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0
The latest: Oregon reportedly has offered Wichita defensive end Xavier Kelly, who has been committed to the Wildcats since November. Kelly committed to the Wildcats shorty after getting an offer from Nebraska, but it will be interesting to see if he gives the Ducks a look.

Oklahoma
Total commits: 2
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 1
The latest: Off their junior day event, the Sooners picked up their first in-state commitment over the weekend in Tulsa's Jon-Michael Terry. Though Terry also plays tight end, the Sooners have targeted him as an outside linebacker. He had 103 tackles and 19 sacks for Victory Christian last season.

Oklahoma State
Total commits: 1
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0
The latest: Like the Sooners, Oklahoma State landed its first in-state commitment last week in Tulsa running back Justice Hill, who rushed for 1,426 yards and 22 touchdowns at Booker T. Washington as a junior. The Cowboys have done well replenishing their running back depth in these two latest recruiting classes, which included the signings of Chris Carson, Todd Mays and Jeff Carr earlier this month.

TCU
Total commits: 7
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 3
The latest: The Horned Frogs are in a battle with Texas Tech for three-star Dallas Skyline RB Da'Leon Ward, who is down to the two Big 12 rivals. Ward is expected to be in Fort Worth for TCU's junior day this weekend, then Lubbock for Tech's the weekend after that.

Texas
Total commits: 3
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 2
The latest: The Longhorns host junior day Feb. 28 and extended some 2016 offers last week in advance, including LB Dontavious Jackson and a trio of WRs: former Baylor commit Tren'Davian Dickson, LSU commit Dee Anderson and juco standout Taj Williams.

Texas Tech
Total commits: 2
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0
The latest: The Red Raiders are one of the schools that have jumped on ESPN Junior 300 athlete Christian Wallace, who decommitted from TCU a week ago. The Red Raiders have an in with Wallace in defensive back Collin Wilder, who is committed to Tech and high school teammates with Wallace at Katy High School.

West Virginia
Total commits: 4
ESPN Junior 300 commits: 0
The latest: West Virginia has always been working from a disadvantage in recruiting because of the lack on in-state talent. But this could be a banner year for the state. The Mountaineers have already locked up commitments from linebacker Dylan Tonkery and defensive end Reese Donahue, and they have extended an offer to Charleston quarterback Tyrhee Pratt. The last time West Virginia signed three in-state players was 2007.

The latest: The Bears appear to have wrapped up their pursuit of the class of 2015 with the addition of three-star Louisiana cornerback Henry Black, and sleeper defensive end Tyrone Hunt of Arp, Texas. Baylor finished with 19 pledges, though we're counting late qualifier Devonte Jones as part of their class. In all, BU spent 11 of those 19 scholarship on defenders in order to fortify depth.

IOWA STATE
Total commits: 21
ESPN 300 commits: 0
ESPN JC50 commits: 1
Class rank: Not ranked
The latest: Iowa State successfully snagged one of the guys at the top on their board, junior college offensive tackle Jaypee Philbert, when he made his commitment Sunday. Philbert is ESPN's No. 10 ranked junior college tackle. The former Arizona State pledge picked ISU after taking visits to USF and Kansas, and will pursue the starting left tackle job immediately.

KANSAS
Total commits: 26
ESPN 300 commits: 0
ESPN JC50 commits: 0
Class rank: Not ranked
The latest: New head coach David Beaty is closing on his class fast with three new pledges over the weekend: three-star tackle Clyde McCauley, and defensive backs Denzel Feaster and Tyrone Miller. McCauley decommitted from Fresno State before choosing the Jayhawks, and Feaster was committed to Miami (Ohio) before making the flip.

KANSAS STATE
Total commits: 21
ESPN 300 commits: 0
ESPN JC50 commits: 0
Class rank: Not ranked
The latest: The Wildcats did lose three-star linebacker Mohamed Barry, who flipped to Nebraska, but enjoyed an otherwise productive week on the trail with five new pledges. The best of the bunch is cornerback Darreyl Patterson, who turned down interest from Oklahoma, Baylor, and Louisville to become a Wildcat. KSU also plucked two sleepers from Dallas-Fort Worth powerhouses: Kylan Johnson of Dallas Skyline and Johnny Durham of Aledo.

OKLAHOMA
Total commits: 20
ESPN 300 commits: 8
ESPN JC50 commits: 3
Class rank: 18th
The latest: The Sooners filled a need at receiver by landing three-star prospect A.D. Miller on Sunday night, and are still pursuing in-state receiver Dahu Green, who is committed to Washington State. Another potential flip to watch this week? Four-star safety Prentice McKinney Jr., who is committed to North Carolina, but visited Norman over the weekend. The Sooners also hosted ESPN 300 guard Joshua Wariboko one last time before his signing-day decision.

OKLAHOMA STATE
Total commits: 18
ESPN 300 commits: 3
ESPN JC50 commits: 1
Class rank: 37th
The latest: The Pokes landed a huge get for their defensive line in four-star defensive tackle Darrion Daniels. He picked Oklahoma State on Friday over Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Iowa. OSU is still chasing some big-name running backs to close out its class, but did take a pledge from Jeff Carr, who comes from Baylor's backyard of Temple, Texas. Three-star offensive tackle Joshua Jones backed out of his OSU pledge on Monday morning and could be heading to Houston.

TCU
Total commits: 24
ESPN 300 commits: 0
ESPN JC50 commits: 0
Class rank: 36th
The latest: With the exception of Daylon Mack's decision, TCU has all but moved on to 2016, and that class is off to a killer start. Houston receiver Courtney Lark, the No. 113 prospect in our ESPN Junior 300, became the Frogs' eighth pledge for next year's class, and its fourth ESPN 300 take. Gary Patterson and his assistants are doing a heck of a job of capitalizing on their 2014 success with this group, and hosted a big junior day over the weekend.

TEXAS
Total commits: 25
ESPN 300 commits: 11
ESPN JC50 commits: 1
Class rank: 9th
The latest: Huge signing day ahead for the Longhorns. Running backs Chris Warren III and Soso Jamabo will start the day off with their morning announcements, and then Texas awaits good news from perhaps their most important targets: Mack and ESPN 300 quarterback Kai Locksley. By landing ESPN 300 cornerbacks Kris Boyd and Holton Hill, and Boyd's younger brother Demarco Boyd on Friday, Texas regained some momentum after failing to flip Kyler Murray.

TEXAS TECH
Total commits: 18
ESPN 300 commits: 3
ESPN JC50 commits: 0
Class rank: 34th
The latest: The Red Raiders are poised to land ESPN 300 safety Jamile Johnson Jr., who decommitted from Texas after visiting Lubbock this weekend, and are still pursuing some big-time defenders, highlighted by ESPN 300 defensive tackle Joseph Wicker and three-star linebacker Arthur McGinnis. Tech landed three-star receiver Donta Thompson and junior college defensive back Paul Banks last week, reaching 18 pledges.

WEST VIRGINIA
Total commits: 22
ESPN 300 commits: 2
ESPN JC50 commits: 1
Class rank: 30th
The latest: Dana Holgorsen and his staff should have a little drama on signing day. After landing a major coup by flipping four-star receiver Shaquery Wilson from Georgia, there are still some priority targets who will decide on Wednesday. Four-star athlete Jordan Cronkrite and ESPN 300 receiver Antonio Callaway, both from Miami, would be huge gets to close out a really nice class.

IOWA STATE
Total commits: 14
ESPN 300 commits: 0
ESPN JC50 commits: 1
Class rank: Not ranked
The latest: Iowa State's class took some majors hit last week. Three-star running back Devine Ozigbo flipped his commitment from the Cyclones to Nebraska. Days before that, 3-star defensive end Anthony Nelson changed his pledge from Iowa State to Iowa. With Ozigbo and Nelson bailing, the Cyclones have now suffered five decommitments to this class.

KANSAS
Total commits: 21
ESPN 300 commits: 0
ESPN JC50 commits: 0
Class rank: Not ranked
The latest: David Beaty announced the hiring of six members of his coaching staff last week, including Gene Wier as high school relations director. Wier is a coaching legend in the Kansas City area, having won six state titles at Olathe North from 1996-2002. Wier, who was former K-State standout Darren Sproles' high school coach, should give the Jayhawks a presence in Kansas City they've lacked in recent years.

KANSAS STATE
Total commits: 17
ESPN 300 commits: 0
ESPN JC50 commits: 0
Class rank: Not ranked
The latest: The Wildcats continue to look for help on the defensive line. They're scheduled to host 3-star DT Bryce English out of DeSoto, Texas, at the end of the month. English is a former Texas and UCLA commit who would fill a major spot on the checklist in the class. Three-star defensive end G.G. Robinson and 3-star DT Tyrell Jacobs are expected to visit Manhattan before signing day, as well.

OKLAHOMA

Total commits: 19
ESPN 300 commits: 8

Total commits: 17
ESPN 300 commits: 2
ESPN JC50 commits: 1
Class rank: 34th
The latest: Oklahoma State is getting one of the final official visits from ESPN 300 running back Chris Warren III, and the Pokes might have an ace up their sleeve in their pursuit. The two will also travel to Washington together before signing day.

TCU
Total commits: 22
ESPN 300 commits: 0
ESPN JC50 commits: 0
Class rank: 36th
The latest: More great news for the Horned Frogs' ongoing chase for five-star defensive tackle Daylon Mack: The Longhorns are out. Mack canceled his Texas official visit and will instead take trips to Texas A&M, Auburn and TCU before signing day. The Frogs get the final official visit for the Jan. 30 weekend and have to like their chances a little better now, especially since Mack does not have much of a relationship with Auburn beyond Will Muschamp.

TEXAS
Total commits: 26
ESPN 300 commits: 11
ESPN JC50 commits: 1
Class rank: 8th
The latest: Mack is off the table for now, but Texas still has lots of big-time targets for its final six scholarship spots. That includes WR John Burt, the recent decommit who will still take a trip to Texas on Jan. 30. Holding on to early enrollee ATH commit Tim Irvin, who will visit Auburn, is also a priority. This upcoming weekend, Texas is expected to host ESPN 300 DBs Holton Hill and Kris Boyd on campus.

WEST VIRGINIA
Total commits: 23
ESPN 300 commits: 3
ESPN JC50 commits: 1
Class rank: 26th
The latest: One intriguing athlete to watch as West Virginia closes out its class this month: Sihiem King. As a senior, King racked up 40 rushing touchdowns and more than 2,000 yards.

Class rank: 23rd
The latest: Jarrett Stidham, No. 39 in the ESPN 300 and the nation's No. 3-ranked dual-threat quarterback prospect, gave his pledge to Baylor over Oregon on Friday. An Under Armour All-America Game selection, Stidham decommitted from Texas Tech on Dec. 13, just a couple weeks before he was scheduled to enroll with the Red Raiders. Stidham instead will enroll early at Baylor and vie immediately to become Bryce Petty's replacement as the Bears' next starting quarterback.

IOWA STATE
Total commits: 16
ESPN 300 commits: 0
ESPN JC50 commits: 1
Class rank: Not ranked
The latest: Just a little more than a week after getting a commitment from ESPN JC50 DT Demond Tucker, the Cyclones closed the deal by signing him Wednesday. Tucker should help shore up an Iowa State defense than ranked 122nd nationally in stopping the run. The Cyclones also picked up juco CB Jomal Wiltz last week. Wiltz was considering Cal, as well.

KANSAS
Total commits: 21
ESPN 300 commits: 0
ESPN JC50 commits: 0
Class rank: Not ranked
The latest: Shortly after grabbing four high school players out of the Metroplex, new coach David Beaty signed a Big 12-high seven juco players on Wednesday. Three of those committed last week, including running back Ke'aun Kinner, cornerback Brandon Stewart and guard Jayson Rhodes.

KANSAS STATE
Total commits: 16
ESPN 300 commits: 0
ESPN JC50 commits: 0
Class rank: Not ranked
The latest: Alex Delton, a three-star dual-threat QB out of Hays, Kansas, remains on track to enroll early in Manhattan and contend this spring for the starting quarterback job that will turn vacant after Jake Waters graduates. The Wildcats also dipped in the Lone Star State last week to add a pledge from Flower Mound offensive tackle Evan Curl.

OKLAHOMA
Total commits: 17
ESPN 300 commits: 7
ESPN JC50 commits: 3
Class rank: 20th
The latest: Like Red River rival Texas, Oklahoma had a big Friday, adding ESPN 300 DE Ricky DeBerry out of Virginia, and four-star safety Kahlil Haughton out of Waco. The Sooners lost a commitment from three-star DE Tyrell Jacobs over the weekend, but they remain in the hunt for ESPN 300 inside linebacker Anthony Wheeler.

OKLAHOMA STATE
Total commits: 17
ESPN 300 commits: 2
ESPN JC50 commits: 1
Class rank: 33rd
The latest: The Cowboys made efforts to shore up their offensive line in signing juco tackle Brandon Pertile , who picked Oklahoma State over Florida. The Pokes also added a key FBS offensive tackle transfer in Victor Salako, who started for UAB last year, and will be eligible immediately since UAB shut down its football program.

TCU
Total commits: 22
ESPN 300 commits: 0
ESPN JC50 commits: 0
Class rank: 36th
The latest: The Horned Frogs are positioned well to land five-star DT Daylon Mack, who decommitted from Texas A&M on Friday. Mack released his new top two on Twitter, and TCU made the cut with LSU. Reeling in Mack would pin the exclamation point on an otherwise solid TCU class.

TEXAS
Total commits: 22
ESPN 300 commits: 9
ESPN JC50 commits: 1
Class rank: 11th
The latest: After a few shaky weeks on the recruiting trail, the Longhorns had a monster Friday, snagging a commitment from ESPN 300 linebacker Malik Jefferson, who is the No. 5 overall prospect in state. The same morning, Texas also added Jefferson's high school teammate four-star athlete DeAndre McNeal. Charlie Strong's defensive class could get even stronger if DT Daylon Mack and ESPN 300 CB Kris Boyd end up in Austin. Mack is slated to take an official visit to Texas on Jan. 23. Boyd is planning to announce his decision on Christmas day.

TEXAS TECH
Total commits: 16
ESPN 300 commits: 4
ESPN JC50 commits: 0
Class rank: 29th
The latest: After losing Stidham, Texas Tech's QB predicament took another hit when Waco Midway's Ben Hicks picked SMU days after Tech offered. The Red Raiders want to add a QB in this class, but they're running out of viable high school options. Signing a juco QB could be the answer. Tech has a successful week otherwise, picking up pledges from three-star safeties Darreon Jackson and Christian Taylor, three-star WR Tony Brown and DE Lonzell Gilmore.

WEST VIRGINIA
Total commits: 24
ESPN 300 commits: 3
ESPN JC50 commits: 1
Class rank: 24th
The latest: The Mountaineers batted .500 last week on ESPN JC50 prospects. Thursday, they missed on WR Isaac Whitney, who chose USC instead. But the day before, West Virginia picked up Rasul Douglas, the nation's No. 3 juco CB. Assuming All-Big 12 strong safety Karl Joseph stays at West Virginia for his senior year, the Mountaineers could boast a formidable secondary in 2015 with Douglas, Joseph, freshman All-American free safety Dravon Henry and cornerback Daryl Worley.

The Bears also bolstered their trenches for 2015 by snagging a commitment from 6-foot-7, 300-pound City College of San Francisco offensive tackle Dominic Desouza, who had offers from Big 12 foes Oklahoma State, TCU and Kansas.

IOWA STATE
Total commits: 11
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: Copiah-Lincoln (Miss.) Community College defensive tackle Demond Tucker visited Iowa State over the weekend. Tucker holds offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Arizona State and Big 12 rival Kansas State. He would be a huge pickup for the Cyclones, who badly need to fortify their defensive line.

KANSAS
Total commits: 13
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: The Jayhawks are in a battle with Minnesota for three-star Kansas City, Kansas, inside linebacker Colton Beebe. Two weekends ago, Beebe visited Minnesota, and though he’s visited Kansas unofficially several times, Beebe has indicated he will set an official visit with the Jayhawks after they name a head coach.

KANSAS STATE
Total commits: 13
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: The Wildcats have a big visit coming up this weekend in junior-college wideout DeDe Westbrook, who was at Oklahoma this past weekend and Oklahoma State the weekend before that. OKLAHOMA
Total commits: 15
ESPN 300 commits: 6
The latest: The Sooners got some much needed junior college cornerback help with William Johnson of Rochester (N.Y.) Monroe Community College committing after visiting Norman over the weekend. TCU
Total commits: 17
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: TCU remains in the mix for the top wide receiver in Texas in Cedar Hill’s DaMarkus Lodge. The way the Horned Frogs have been throwing the ball around this season hasn’t hurt their chances with Lodge.

TEXAS

Merrick would give the Longhorns a fourth quarterback for 2016, along with starter Tyrone Swoopes, redshirting freshman Jerrod Heard and incoming freshman Zach Gentry.

TEXAS TECH
Total commits: 14
ESPN 300 commits: 5

WEST VIRGINIA
Total commits: 22

Here is what's happening on the recruiting trail around the Big 12 this week:

BAYLOR
Total commits: 12
ESPN 300 commits: 3
The latest: The Bears lost a commitment on Sunday from 2016 defensive back KeShawn Somerville of Pflugerville (Texas) Hendrickson. The junior with two other offers is reopening his recruitment and has shown major interest in TCU lately. Baylor still has four commits for 2016 on board, including three in the ESPN Junior 300.

IOWA STATE
Total commits: 13
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: The Cyclones are searching for immediate help in the junior college ranks and offered at least three in the past week: defensive backs L.B. Bates and Jomal Wiltz and offense tackle Tristan Nickelson. Bates has been committed to Kansas since June, and Nickelson played with current ISU lineman Cole Anderson in high school.

KANSAS
Total commits: 14
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: Landing 2016 three-star running back Aubrey White of Wylie (Texas) East was a nice coup for interim coach Clint Bowen and his staff this fall, but the Jayhawks could be for a fight to keep him in the future. White received an offer from Michigan State this weekend and should have more on the way.

KANSAS STATE
Total commits: 11
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: The Wildcats had several official visitors in town for their 48-14 win over Oklahoma State, most notably uncommitted three-stars LB Mohamed Barry and DT George Lea. Barry comes from the Georgia powerhouse Loganville Grayson and has nearly a dozen offers. Lea, a 6-foot-2 lineman from New Orleans, will visit Arizona State this weekend and has already been to Washington State.

OKLAHOMA
Total commits: 14
ESPN 300 commits: 6
The latest: OU has a nice secondary class so far with ESPN 300 defensive backs P.J. Mbanasor and Will Sunderland Jr. and is looking to add to that group. Three-star UCLA commit Will Lockett of Manvel, Texas, and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M corner Justin Martin were recently offered and are reportedly likely to make official visits to Norman.

OKLAHOMA STATE
Total commits: 15
ESPN 300 commits: 4
The latest: The Cowboys locked up a pair of really intriguing pledges last week in junior college quarterback Todd Mays and three-star guard Vaimoe Sekona. Mays is a speedy athlete capable of playing running back or receiver in addition to his passing talents. The commitment of Sekona was a nice surprise since the big man from Encino (California) Crespi turned down offers from USC and UCLA.

TCU
Total commits: 17
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: Being the first to offer paid off big-time for the Horned Frogs with three-star cornerback DeShawn Raymond. The Louisiana defender chose TCU on Friday over offers from LSU, Mississippi State, Arkansas and Nebraska. He took his official visit for the Frogs' win over Oklahoma State. This is an impressive get, and though LSU could still make a hard push before signing day, Raymond claims he's done taking visits.

TEXAS
Total commits: 18
ESPN 300 commits: 9
The latest: A big crowd of recruits will be in Austin on Saturday when the Longhorns take on West Virginia. Among those expected to attend are Texas quarterback commit Zach Gentry, ESPN 300 tight end Devonaire Clarington and key four-star athlete target DeAndre McNeal. The Horns reportedly could also have Alabama commit Ronnie Harrison and Tennessee pledge Cecil Cherry in for official visits, too.

TEXAS TECH
Total commits: 13
ESPN 300 commits: 5
The latest: Another coveted ESPN 300 recruit joined the Red Raiders' class last week in wide receiver Carlos Strickland, a big 6-foot-5 pass-catchers from powerhouse Dallas Skyline, and Cibolo (Texas) Steele offensive lineman Terrence Steele became commit No. 13 on Sunday. Tech did have some big names at the Texas game, including ESPN 300 defensive tackle Joseph Wicker and juco receiver Damion Ratley, whose stock is rising.

WEST VIRGINIA
Total commits: 21
ESPN 300 commits: 3
The latest: In addition to hosting touted athletes like ESPN 300 stud Jordan Cronkrite and four-star Tim Irvin for the TCU game, the Mountaineers also brought in junior college recruits who could help immediately. Cornerback Rasul Douglas and defensive end Xavier Pegues, who's currently committed to Iowa State, both made it to Morgantown and left with plenty to think about.

Here’s the latest around the Big 12 on the recruiting trail after another big weekend of official and unofficial visits:

BAYLOR
Total commits: 12
ESPN 300 commits: 3
The latest: There aren't many spots left in Baylor's class, but one of them is presumably being saved for Waco Midway four-star safety Kahlil Haughton. He took an official visit to Arkansas last weekend and could take his official trip to a Baylor game on Nov. 1. Haughton has already taken officials to Oklahoma and Nebraska, and his final two trips are expected to go to BU and Texas Tech.

IOWA STATE
Total commits: 13
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: The Cyclones' latest pledge came from Itawamba (Mississippi) C.C. -- defensive lineman Xavier Pegues. He committed one day after juco teammate Larry Jefferson picked ISU. Both big men attended Iowa State's win over Toledo this month. Pegues, a 6-foot-3, 270-pound lineman, will likely play defensive tackle next year.

KANSAS
Total commits: 13
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: Despite the coaching change, Kansas' recruiting class has stayed intact to this point. The Jayhawks aren't making many new offers under interim coach Clint Bowen, and its committed prospects seem to be taking a wait-and-see approach on how this season and subsequent coaching search play out.

KANSAS STATE
Total commits: 10
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: One recruit expected to be in Manhattan on Saturday for the Wildcats' game against Texas is Kylan Johnson. The three-star safety from Dallas Skyline is planning to take an official visit and is reportedly also considering Texas Tech and Arkansas.

OKLAHOMA
Total commits: 14
ESPN 300 commits: 6
The latest: The Sooners had a surprising star on campus for an official visit this weekend: Texas A&M commit Kyler Murray, the No. 1 quarterback recruit in the nation. The five-star from Allen, Texas, also attended OU's Red River Showdown win last week before taking in A&M's loss to Ole Miss.

OKLAHOMA STATE
Total commits: 13
ESPN 300 commits: 4
The latest: Playing at TCU gave OSU coaches a chance to check in on their DFW-area commitments on Friday night. The Pokes staff got a chance to watch their coveted ESPN 300 running back pledge, Ronald Jones II, rush for 130 yards and two scores (including a 73-yard TD) to help McKinney North beat rival McKinney.

TCU
Total commits: 16
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: The Horned Frogs had a nice collection of 2016 recruits in the house Saturday for their beatdown of OSU, including No. 1 overall recruit Greg Little and ESPN Junior 300 defensive backs Jared Mayden and Jaylon Jones. Three more important visitors: 2015 three-star corner DeShawn Raymond, LSU commit Hanner Shipley and 2017 athlete Anthony Hines III, who holds more than 50 offers.

TEXAS
Total commits: 17
ESPN 300 commits: 8
The latest: The Longhorns got a critical opportunity on Saturday to convince receiver John Burt to stick with his commitment. The ESPN 300 receiver from Florida is contemplating flipping his commitment to Auburn after taking an official visit there this season. He returned to Austin this weekend for an unofficial visit to watch Texas' 48-45 win over Iowa State. Burt has been committed to UT since July.

TEXAS TECH
Total commits: 11
ESPN 300 commits: 3
The latest: The Red Raiders landed a commitment last Sunday from three-star defensive tackle Courtney Wallace of Monroe (Louisiana) Neville. He turned down a dozen offers to become the fourth defender in Tech's class. This Sunday, TTU extended an offer to ESPN Junior 300 linebacker Dontavious Jackson, the Houston Elsik standout who now holds six offers.

WEST VIRGINIA
Total commits: 21
ESPN 300 commits: 3
The latest: The latest member of the Mountaineers' class is Longwood, Florida, defensive end Adam Shuler. He committed on Saturday after taking an official visit to WVU earlier this month for the Kansas game. The 6-foot-5 end turned down offers from Cincinnati, Purdue and Indiana.

The Big 12's head coaches are in Dallas today for Big 12 media days, but that doesn't mean they aren't busy as usual recruiting like crazy. The latest on each Big 12 program's recruiting efforts:

BAYLOR
Total commits: 10
ESPN 300 commits: 3
The latest: The Bears are capitalizing on their 2013 success in a big way for the future: Baylor might have the nation's top 2016 recruiting class at this point with six verbal pledges. Baylor landed one of its most impressive victories in a long time Friday when offensive tackle Patrick Hudson, a top-20 prospect for 2016, flipped to BU after being committed to Texas A&M for nearly four months. But that's not all. Art Briles and his staff also landed receiver Tren'Davian Dickson and local defensive back Eric Cuffee this weekend and locked up a big-time talent last week in ESPN Junior 300 running back Kameron Martin.

IOWA STATE
Total commits: 6
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: We mentioned him in last week's Big 12 scorecard, and the big week is finally here. Running back Devine Ozigbo is set to announce his commitment on Tuesday at 2 p.m., and trimmed his list of 20 offense down to three: Iowa, Iowa State and Boise State. The three-star back is a top-100 recruit in the state of Texas and would be an important get for the Cyclones who could play right away for them.

KANSAS
Total commits: 11
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: When you're able to get a player as talented as receiver Kevin Thomas on campus, you've got to lock him up. The Jayhawks did just that last week, securing a commitment from the three-star wideout from Texas powerhouse DeSoto High School, during his unofficial visit. Thomas chose KU over offers from the likes of Wisconsin, Nebraska and Clemson and is now KU's highest-rated pledge.

KANSAS STATE
Total commits: 8
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: The Wildcat's newest commitment came from three-star defensive end Josh Little of Oklahoma City Millwood. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound lineman picked KSU over a handful of offers, including from Arizona State, Purdue, Washington State and Iowa State. Little hails from the same high school that produced All-Big 12 receiver Tyler Lockett and racked up 76 tackles and five sacks as a junior.

OKLAHOMA
Total commits: 7
ESPN 300 commits: 5
The latest: Former Sooners commit defensive tackle Du'Vonta Lampkin has set a decision date for Sept. 15, and he still has OU in his final three. The three-star recruit from Houston Cypress Falls is down to OU, Texas and LSU. While Texas is currently in the lead, Lampkin is planning to give the Sooners one last chance to sway him with his official visit for the Sept. 13 game against Tennessee.

OKLAHOMA STATE
Total commits: 8
ESPN 300 commits: 3
The latest: Three-star offensive tackle Joshua Jones released his top five this weekend and Oklahoma State made the list along with TCU, Texas Tech, Purdue and Wake Forest. The big 6-foot-6, 271-pound lineman hails from Bush High School in the Houston area, and it wouldn't be a surprise if this comes down to an OSU-TCU battle.

TCU
Total commits: 16
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: TCU landed its first verbal commit for the class of 2016, from defensive end Jonathan Marshall, during its final summer camp. The Shepherd, Texas, standout is 6-foot-3 and 256 pounds and had early offers from Oklahoma State and North Texas. It's possible another commitment could come Monday from three-star DeSoto (Texas) defensive tackle Bryce English, a former Texas commit who is set to choose between TCU, Arkansas, Arizona State and UCLA.

TEXAS
Total commits: 11
ESPN 300 commits: 5
The latest: Texas did not land any new commitments off its inaugural "Under The Lights" camp on Friday, but ESPN Junior 300 offensive tackle J.P. Urquidez came close to announcing a decision Saturday and has Texas and Baylor at the top of his list. The Longhorns also hosted a critical unofficial visit from four-star QB Kai Locksley and his father, Maryland offensive coordinator Mike Locksley. He's set to make a commitment to either UT, Florida State or Maryland during his season opener.

TEXAS TECH
Total commits: 7
ESPN 300 commits: 2
The latest: The Red Raiders got a big opportunity recently to ensure one of their top commits stays in the fold. Three-star running back Corey Dauphine, who has long been rumored to be considering a flip to Texas A&M or Baylor, took an unofficial visit to Lubbock and went home saying he felt 100-percent solid with his commitment. Dauphine could still take a trip to A&M in early August, but this was a big step in the right direction for Tech's chances.

WEST VIRGINIA
Total commits: 14
ESPN 300 commits: 2
The latest: WVU's newest pledge should be a familiar name: Three-star QB David Sills. As a 13-year-old, he made a (very) early commitment to USC and then-coach Lane Kiffin. He went back on the market this year -- he didn't have much of a relationship with Steve Sarkisian -- and the Mountaineers won out for the standout from Eastern Christian Academy in Maryland. Stills is up to 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds and should be a fairly polished passer when he arrives in Morgantown after years of training with famed QB coach Steve Clarkson.

Below is the latest in recruiting around the Big 12:

BAYLOR
Total commits: 8
ESPN 300 commits: 6
The latest: The Bears have gotten off to an awesome start offensively, but they would love to keep safety Kahlil Haughton home. Haughton has numerous offers, including LSU and Oklahoma as well as Big Ten powers Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State.

IOWA STATE
Total commits: 1
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: Mark Mangino helped change Kansas' fortune by unearthing gem QB Todd Reesing, who eventually took the Jayhawks to the Orange Bowl. The Cyclones have extended an offer to dual-threat QB Joe Burrow, who had a phenomenal junior season with 53 total TDs and just six picks. With offers beginning to pour in, Iowa State will have to fight to get him, but Burrow would be a huge pickup for Mangino's first offensive recruiting class.

KANSAS
Total commits: 1
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: The Jayhawks finally picked up their first commitment over the weekend, but it was a big one. Ryan Willis is the No. 26 pocket-passing QB in the country, and was being pursued by Kansas State and Illinois. His dad went to Kansas State, but Willis was drawn to new coordinator John Reagan’s offense. Willis went to the same high school as Kansas’ current starting QB Montell Cozart, and could be Cozart’s successor down the line.

KANSAS STATE
Total commits: 1
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: The Wildcats also have only one commit so far in three-star QB Alex Delton, but it too was a key pickup. Delton reportedly put on a show during the Dallas Elite 11 QB camp over the weekend. With starter Jake Waters a senior next season, the K-State QB position could be up for grabs in 2015.

OKLAHOMA
Total commits: 3
ESPN 300 commits: 3
The latest: The Sooners are looking to beef up their offensive and defensive lines in this class, and are in on several big-time prospects. Oklahoma already owns commitments from DT Marquise Overton and OT Bobby Evans, and will be angling to keep the nation’s No. 1 offensive guard Jalin Barnett in state.

OKLAHOMA STATE
Total commits: 4
ESPN 300 commits: 2
The latest: The Cowboys already have landed ESPN 300 QB John Kolar and ESPN 300 RB Ronald Jones II. Oklahoma State is in strong position to land an ESPN 300 receiver, too, with Tyron Johnson, Kemah Siverand, Carlos Strickland and K.J. Hill all reciprocating interest.

TCU
Total commits: 9
ESPN 300 commits: 0
The latest: With ESPN 300 QB Zach Gentry narrowing his list to Alabama, Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Texas, TCU has refocused its QB search. Nearby Bo Schneider might be a possibility.

TEXAS
Total commits: 9
ESPN 300 commits: 5
The latest: Only two of the nine verbal commitments Mack Brown landed for 2015 are still on the commit list, as new coach Charlie Strong has completely revamped the Longhorns’ recruiting game plan. Texas, however, still doesn’t have a top-10 in-state player on board. That could change emphatically if the Longhorns could snag the state’s No. 5 player -- outside linebacker Malik Jefferson, who will announce his college plans after the upcoming football season.

TEXAS TECH
Total commits: 6
ESPN 300 commits: 2
The latest: Thanks to his efforts over the weekend in the Dallas Elite 11 QB camp, Texas Tech commitment Jarrett Stidham earned the eighth invite to the prestigious Elite 11 finals.

WEST VIRGINIA
Total commits: 10
ESPN 300 commits: 2
The latest: With a host of skill players already on board, snagging players in the trenches will be the focus. West Virginia got in early on three-star guard George Asafo-Adjei, who received an offer from Florida over the weekend.
