Choice enjoys action in Razorback formation
IRVING -- The Cowboys used the Wildcat formation, called the Razorback by the team, four times against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Running back Tashard Choice was the point man during these runs, gaining 13 yards and a touchdown. Choice's first run in the formation went for 10 yards, but a holding call on fullback Deon Anderson nullified the play.
Offensive coordinator Jason Garrett came up with some different formations in the Razorback last week to try to confuse the Eagles defense and to get Choice some needed snaps.
But Choice will take any carry he can get.
"Just another way we can get the football, man," Choice said. "It was cool to be in the game. And for the coaches to call it [and be] comfortable with it, that was really important."
The Miami Dolphins are the only NFL team that uses the Wildcat formation on a consistent basis. Choice says he watches film of how the Dolphins use the scheme.
"Ronnie Brown is perfect for it. He's awesome," Choice said of the Dolphins' running back. "One of top three backs in the league, to me, running the football. He's patient and he makes people miss. That's what really makes it."
