Cowboys are in with a win

The Dallas Cowboys can punch their playoff ticket with a win Sunday night over the Washington Redskins.

The New York Giants simplified the NFC playoff picture by failing to compete in their final game at their stadium. The Giants’ lopsided loss to the injury-ravaged Carolina Panthers might bump the Cowboys’ 2008 season finale down the list of the most embarrassing efforts in recent NFC East history.

All the Cowboys have to do is defeat a dysfunctional Redskins team, which was routed by New York six days ago, to bury the Giants’ playoff hopes next to Jimmy Hoffa in the Meadowlands end zone.
