LANDOVER, Md. -- Cowboys special teams coach Joe DeCamillis is undergoing laparoscopic appendectomy surgery tonight at a Virginia hospital. DeCamillis wil miss the game tonight with the Redskins and his long-term status is uncertain.

The Cowboys will leave the Washington, D.C. area following the game.

DeCamillis' father-in-law Dan Reeves said the coach was undergoing surgery about 90 minutes before kickoff. DeCamillis arrived to the Washington, D.C. area Saturday afternoon with the rest of the team but underwent physical problems on Sunday morning.

Wes Phillips, Wade Phillips' son, will handle special tams duties along with the other coaches.
