Favre's recent playoff history isn't pretty

IRVING, Texas -- You probably won't hear a critical word about Brett Favre come out of the mouth of a Cowboy this week.

The Cowboys had already started gushing praise about the Vikings' 40-year-old future Hall of Famer moments after the trip to Minnesota had been officially booked.

"He's a heck of a football player," linebacker Keith Brooking said. "We're not looking at him as being 40 years old and not being able to move in the pocket. That dude can still sling it. He can spin that ball. He's still making the throws he made back in the day. No doubt about that."

The Cowboys have plenty of reasons to respect Favre, who owns a Super Bowl ring and several NFL records. But a quick glance at his recent playoff history reveals no reason to fear him.

Favre lost five of his last seven playoff games with the Packers. He threw 11 touchdown passes and 16 interceptions during those performances.

Not that ancient history has anything to do with this weekend's game, but Favre is 0-3 against the Cowboys in the playoffs.
