ORLANDO, Fla. -- A few years ago, Cowboys tight end Jason Witten lost his helmet during a collision with Eagles defenders and continued running downfield for about 25 yards.
Under a new proposal by the NFL, the result of that play wouldn't have happened. A proposed rule change states that a play would be blown dead and the ball would be spotted where the ballcarrier lost his helmet.
Toward the end of the first half, Adams, who has a nasty history with Tuck, pushed him in the back, setting off a scrum along the Giants sidelines. Adams was penalized on the play, and that was it. Under a new proposal, that penalty would carry over to the second half.
The results of these proposals and many more will be revealed at some point Wednesday.
