Earlier today, we told you that Angela Bryant said that she wants her own apology from Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland.
Ireland has already apologized to her son, Cowboys rookie receiver Dez Bryant, for asking him during a pre-draft interview if his mother was a prostitute.
And then there was another development in the story. ESPN reported that police records show Angela Bryant was arrested and convicted just last year on drug charges in Lufkin, Texas.
That's notable because she asserted that her distant past transgressions are being used unfairly against her son, referring to her conviction and 18-month prison sentence on drug charges in the late 1990s.
"When they couldn't find enough dirt on him, they went to that," she told Fanhouse.com. "It was almost like a scheme. They should never have put that kind of thing or question on him. Whatever reason they chose to do that, they are talking about my charges of 12 years ago and running with it."
