Romo shoots 69, waits for others to finish

CARROLLTON, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo finished his local U.S. Open qualifier shooting a 2-under-par 69 on Thursday.

Nine golfers had yet to complete their round at The Honors Golf Club of Dallas, so it hasn't yet been determined whether Romo will move on to the sectional.

The top seven and two alternates move to the sectional June 7 in The Woodlands, Texas. Romo's score currently places him in a tie for fourth place, and he may have to participate in a playoff at 8 a.m. Friday if he ties for seventh place.

Romo birdied three of the last four holes and had 12 putts on the back nine. On hole No. 8, he made a 38-foot putt for birdie that he called "ridiculous".
