One day after advancing to the U.S. Open sectional qualifier, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was in the gallery following 16-year-old Jordan Spieth on Friday at the HP Byron Nelson Championship.
Romo, who had to skip the final qualifier Monday to make the Nelson field because of Cowboys OTAs, played with Spieth in March at the Azalea Invitational in South Carolina. The two even shared the same beachfront house with that tournament's director.
"There's never going to be a course that’s too much for him," said Romo, who often texts Spieth -- but not Friday. "He's fine as long as he keeps his emotions under control. He's got the game for it, no question."
Romo is keeping a low profile at the TPC Four Seasons Resort, but a few fans have noticed and have asked to have their pictures taken with Romo.
