It was a rough week of OTAs for the Cowboys.
Nickel cornerback Orlando Scandrick is out until training camp after shattering his left index finger while breaking up a pass Tuesday. The injury was serious enough to require an operation.
First-round pick Dez Bryant's injury isn't nearly as severe, but he's dealing with a hip pointer, a source told ESPNDallas.com's Calvin Watkins.
Assuming Scandrick makes a full recovery by training camp, his absence the rest of the offseason shouldn't impact his performance. He's played the nickel role the last two seasons and has an excellent understanding of the scheme.
Bryant, on the other hand, needs all the practice time he can get as he works to get a grasp on Jason Garrett's playbook.
