'Boys like what they see in Stephen McGee

August, 9, 2010
Stephen McGee won’t be judged by his numbers this preseason.

The Cowboys coaches want to see him play with poise. They want to see him make quick, smart decisions.

He did those things during Sunday’s Hall of Fame Game, when he completed 12 of 22 passes for 116 yards while often running for his life behind a ragtag backup offensive line.

“He did a good job,” offensive coordinator Jason Garrett said. “I thought he had good command, made good decisions. He was quick back there. He was decisive. He used his feet when he had to.

“Things didn’t come up clean all the time. He had to kind of get out of dodge with some throws and also using his feet when things weren’t blocked up properly or they were bringing extra guys. I thought he handled that well. He had good poise and good presence throughout the game.”
