Dez Bryant fields punts in practice
Here's what we noticed in the 30 minutes the media was allowed to watch things.
*Marc Colombo and Kyle Kosier were missing again as they still recover from knee injuries. Kosier won't be ready until Week 2 and Colombo was 50-50 for this week.
With Colombo and Kosier not going today, it appears their playing status for Sunday night is doubtful.
*Dez Bryant and Terence Newman were fielding punts. Coach Wade Phillips is evasive regarding who the punt and kick returners will be on Sunday vs. Washington.
We assume if the Cowboys can get a nice return on a punt, Bryant will go. But if the team is backed up, Newman, with his experience, will make the decisions whether or not to catch a punt near the 10.
*TCU's indoor facility is 80-yards long. Mark Cohen, the crack TCU sports information director, explained that's all the land allowed for when the school built the facility. Ran into football coach Gary Patterson, who said the stadium and weight room is getting a face lift.
*As the media was led out of the facility, three students sat on a hill taking a sneak peek of practice.
*One last thing, there is no air conditioning at the facility. Just some big fans and doors to help with a breeze.
