IRVING, Texas -- While Wade Phillips doesn't think that the Rangers' performance in the MLB postseason will impact his team, he is rooting for the club.

The Rangers head home with a 2-0 lead over the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS. If things hold up, the Rangers and the Yankees will meet in the ALCS next week.

"I support the team and I’m glad for the Rangers," Phillips said. "My family knows, well my dad [Bum] knows Nolan Ryan pretty well and the contact I've had with him, he’s a great guy. I'm glad for him."

If the Rangers and Yankees meet in the ALCS it might split the Cowboys locker room. Miles Austin and Stephen Bowen, from the New York-New Jersey area, wear their Yankees caps proudly.

Marcus Spears was wearing a Rangers hat Thursday.

Marc Colombo is a Boston Red Sox fan, so it will be interesting to see who he roots for.
Calvin Watkins joined ESPNDallas.com in September 2009. He's covered the Cowboys since 2006 and also has covered colleges, boxing and high school sports.
