IRVING -- After getting cut by the Cowboys on Wednesday, safety Mike Hamlin was signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad on Friday.

To make room for Hamlin, the Jags waived quarterback Keith Null.

Hamlin a 2009 fifth round pick, played in six games for the Cowboys last season.

When the Cowboys cut Hamlin, it meant they wanted to go with younger safeties, Barry Church and Danny McCray on the roster. Hamlin was inactive for the last two games, Houston and Tennessee.

The Cowboys replaced Hamlin with tackle Jermey Parnell to the active roster.
