IRVING -- In the first year of Wade Phillips' regime as coach, he announced which players got game balls during his news conference. It was a way for Phillips to praise his players in public.

But it was quickly dismissed as high schoolish to talk about who played well especially after a loss.

Well a little more than a week into the tenure of Jason Garrett's interim stint, he could still get the job, Game Balls and Atta Boys have returned.

A big sign is plastered outside the Cowboys locker room displaying the names and faces of three players, Jon Kitna, Bryan McCann and Mat McBriar and one coach, Paul Pasqualoni, who received game balls following the victory over the Giants.

Also getting credit for the win listed under Atta Boys: Miles Austin, Alan Ball, Dez Bryant, Felix Jones, Stephen Bowen, Gerald Sensabaugh, Orlando Scandrick, Andre Gurode and Bradie James.

The Special Teams Atta Boy is Sean Lee and the Scout Team Player of the Week is Manuel Johnson.

It's good to see the Game Ball announcement presented this way instead of during the news conference.
