Sean Lee named NFC Defensive Player of Week
Lee’s returned his first interception of Peyton Manning 31 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter and set up David Buehler’s game-winning field goal attempt with his second interception in overtime. It was the first multi-interception game by a Cowboy defender since Terence Newman on Dec. 14, 2008 vs. the New York Giants, and Lee became the first rookie with multi interceptions in a game since Newman had three on Dec. 14, 2003 at Washington.
Lee, who suffered a shoulder injury on his return for a score, also had a career-high nine tackles and two pass breakups.
He is the third Cowboy to earn this honor this season, joining DeMarcus Ware (Week 3 at Houston) and Bryan McCann (Week 10 at the New York Giants).
